STUDENT TRAVEL GRANT APPLICATION
CASCA 2010

Partial travel subsidies are available to PhD graduate students who have no alternate support to participate in the CASCA 2010 meeting. Funds are limited. Participants should anticipate having to provide much of the costs of travel, accommodation and food.
Application eligibility, criteria and submission instructions:
- Applicants MUST BE affiliated with a Canadian institution and be CASCA members in good standing at the time of conference attendance, as well as an active participant in the meeting, i.e. delivering a paper.
- In disbursing funds priority will be given to doctoral candidates who have completed thesis research and are presenting final results (ABD). Note: coursework, comprehensive exams and field research must be completed
- Master’s students and anyone occupying a tenure-track, full-time contractually-limited position or a post-doctoral fellowship at a university or college are not eligible.
- Supervisor recommendation letter (signed and sealed) sent with application.
- Applicants who received a subsidy for the CASCA 2009 conference in Vancouver are not eligible for this year’s subsidy
- Applications must be received by e-mail, and with signed original mailed and postmarked no later than March 2, 2010. Any submissions after this date will not be considered.
- Notice to successful applicants should be available by March 31, 2010, giving sufficient time for applicants to make travel reservations and arrangements.
- Approved bursaries, depending on available funding, will be proportioned by geographical distance and according to travel means. For example, $400 for students from BC, Alberta, Sask., Manitoba and Maritimes b. $220- $100 for students from Ontario, Quebec.
- Funds will be disbursed at the conference, upon submission of original receipts, including proof of travel/ticket stub, a copy of student I.D. Please come prepared to provide copies.
Incomplete and/or late applications will not be considered. CASCA will not contact applicants whose applications are incomplete.
