Department: Native Studies

Brandon University invites applications for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Native Studies. The University seeks an individual with a PhD obtained within the last ten years and an outstanding and internationally-recognized research profile. The successful candidate will explore issues relating to Western Canada’s First Nations or Métis communities through historical or sociological perspectives. The particular disciplinary perspective is otherwise open. The successful candidate will have an established record of attracting competitively awarded research funding, including funding from the Social Sciences & Humanities Research Council of Canada or similar national granting agencies.

The candidate will be expected to develop and enhance collaborations with members of other disciplines such as Anthropology, Gender & Women’s Studies, History, Political Science, Sociology, and Rural & Community Development.
