The Department of Anthropology, Wilfrid Laurier University, invites applications to teach the following courses during the 2010 - 2011 academic year.

AN202 Foundations of Anthropological Thought  AN202 is a required course.

Fall 2010 TR 4:00 – 5:20 pm 1 Sept. – 31 Dec. Enrolment limit: 45 Total classroom hours: 36 (three per week) plus office hours

Note that the successful candidate must consult with the instructor of AN200 to coordinate course content.

AN326 Culture as Performance

Winter 2011 TR 1:00 – 2:20 pm 1 Jan. – 30 April Enrolment limit: 35 Total classroom hours: 36 (three per week) plus office hours

The Anthropology Department invites applications for a 1 year, non-regular type 2 (50%) position in Cultural Anthropology beginning September, 2010. This entails teaching four courses: some set courses in addition to multiple sections of Introduction to Cultural Anthropology, Sept, 2010 – Apr. 2011.

A Ph.D. in Anthropology is preferred, but consideration will also be given to candidates who are ABD. Candidates will have an outstanding teaching record in Cultural Anthropology and a good record of research accomplishments. Preference will be given to candidates who can also teach some combination of the following: First Nations Cultures of Canada, Methods and Ethics in Anthropology, Cross-Cultural Women’s Studies, Culture and Environment, Anthropological Theory, Culture, Community and Well-Being (medical anthropology).
