Crowne Plaza Fredericton-Lord Beaverbrook

The newly renovated Crowne Plaza Fredericton-Lord Beaverbrook is a landmark hotel located in the heart of downtown Fredericton. Situated on the banks of the beautiful Saint John River, this hotel is the only Fredericton hotel which is within walking distance to the Provincial Legislature, the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, Fredericton Playhouse and Fredericton's unique shopping/entertainment district.

The Crowne Beaverbrook Hotel has set aside a block of 80 rooms from May 10-14 at the special rate of $149.00 (Rate based on single/double occupancy. Additional person charge beyond double occupancy is $10 per person.) Reservations must be made on or before April 9, 2011 in order to be eligible for the group rate. Individual cancellations not received by 6:00 pm on the day of arrival are subject to a cancellation penalty of 100% of all anticipated charges. The full block will be held until ninety (90) days prior to our event whereupon the numbers of rooms held will be reduced so book early!

A dedicated booking website has been created for the 2011 CASCA Conference where guests will be able to make, modify and cancel their hotel reservations online, as well as take advantage of any room upgrades, amenities or other services offered by the hotel.

Fredericton Inn

The Fredericton Inn is a full service hotel and convention center with 200 modern guest rooms featuring Standard, Deluxe and Executive rooms. All guest rooms are equipped with complimentary high speed internet, both wired and wireless. The Regency Dining Room and adjoining lounge offers fine dining specializing in steaks and seafood, with a popular evening buffet. Guests enjoy an indoor pool and hot tub and health and exercise facilities on site. The Deluxe and Executive rooms feature 32' LCD HDTV's. The Fredericton Inn is centrally located in the uptown area and within walking distance to 3 major shopping centers and some of the city's most popular restaurants. Empire multiplex theaters is located next door.

The Fredericton Inn offers a discounted rate to participants of CASCA's annual conference as 50 rooms have been set aside under the group code "anthrop" for the dates of May 10-15, 2011.

Reservations may be made until April 16, 2011 by calling toll free: 1-800-561-8777.

The conference rates being offered to CASCA conference participants: Executive room $159.00; Deluxe room $129.00; and Regular room - $ 119.00.

 


St. Thomas University's Summer Hotel

St. Thomas University's Summer Hotel will provide a variety of residence accommodations for CASCA 2011. These include the somewhat more luxurious Forest Hill Residence which is somewhat more distant from the conference site and the main residence rooms that are located on the Main Campus, a stone's throw from the Conference. STU is easily accessible from all these residences.

The Forest Hill Residence

The Forest Hill Residence, where the banquet will also be held, is comprised of one bedroom suites with shower etc . Attendeees staying with STU Summer Hotel for the conference will receive a 15% discount with conference pricing as follows (prices include sales tax):


  • Single:  $34.00 Nightly or $119.00 Weekly
  • Double:  $46.75 Nightly or $170.00 Weekly
  • Suite:  $68.00 Nightly or $255.00 Weekly

Standard residence accommodation information for the STU Main Campus.

The following is the residence accommodation information for the Main Campus. Residences on STU campus will be standard residence rooms with shared bathroom facilities. Members can rent residence rooms with shared bathrooms in each residence house on the Main Campus at the following rates:

  • Single: $25.00 plus tax per night
  • Double: $39.90 plus tax per night

Singles with a full bath

There are three residences each with a limited number of singles with a full bath at the nightly rate of $25.00 plus tax. Members should be aware that these are older residences but they are updated each year. These suites are as close as you can get to the conference rooms, cafeteria and fitness centre.

  • Holy Cross House: Rooms 111 & 124
  • Vanier House: Rooms 144, 219, 244, 248, 319 & 348
  • Harrington House: Rooms 142 & 143 (adjoining wheelchair rooms) and Room 234


The Dean's Suite is located on the 1st floor of Vanier House and is $80.00 per night (tax included)




Abbey Glen Riverfront B&B

Built circa 1790, this historical Georgian house is located in a central location abd the Abbey Glen Riverfront Bed & Breakfast offers history at a reasonable price. A limited number of rooms have been set aside for the conference so we recommend that you book immediately if you wish to stay in the quiet charm of this B&B.

Brennan's Bed and Breakfast

Featuring Victorian charm with a downtown riverfront location, Brennan's Bed & Breakfast offers a charming place to call home for the conference. A limited number of rooms have been set aside for the conference so we recommend that you book immediately if you wish to stay in the quiet charm of this B&B.

Carriage House Inn

The Carriage House Inn is a Victorian Queen Anne style mansion built in 1875, by lumber baron and mayor Harry Beckwith. Enjoy a full breakfast in the elegant ballroom filled with art and antiques that will take you back in time. This turn-of-the-century Inn is surrounded by stately elms and is conveniently located in the heart of town near our universities, historical attractions, shops, and restaurants... all within walking distance on our trail system framing the beautiful St. John River. The Inn offers bilingual service (English and French). A limited number of rooms have been set aside for the conference so we recommend that you book immediately if you wish to stay in the quiet charm of this B&B.

The Very Best, A Victorian Bed & Breakfast

Fredericton's first 5 Star B&B, The Very Best is located in a quiet neighbourhood in the downtown Heritage Preservation area.The 1840 victorian home has been restored to its former elegance and features a heated swimming pool, sauna and games court. A limited number of rooms have been set aside for the conference so we recommend that you book immediately if you wish tthe very best.

Parkview Bed & Breakfast

Located in a lovely old home close to downtown, the Parkview Bed & Breakfast features reasonably priced rooms in a quiet location next to a park and the historic old government house. A limited number of rooms have been set aside for the conference so we recommend that you book immediately if you wish tthe very best.

Kilburn House Bed & Breakfast

Home to a 5th generation of the Kilburn Family, in 'The Big House' they still call home, this bed & breakfast offers a clean, comfortable and friendly place to stay in Fredericton's 'downtown' city centre. The hosts, Clark & Bonnie Kilburn, are community active lifelong residents of the city and truly enjoy hosting guests from all walks of life who will ensure your visit to Fredericton is memorable. A limited number of rooms have been set aside for the conference so we recommend that you book immediately if you wish tthe very best.

Transportation:

All of the Hotels and B & Bs are within 15-20 minutes walk  from STU with the exception of the Delta, Ramada, Lakeview Inn and Quality Inn. But all hotels and B and Bs are merely a $5.00 ($6.00 with tip) cab ride away from STU. Buses also leave from downtown up to STU regularly at $2.00 per ticket.

Transportation from the Fredericton Airport into town is only via taxi at about $24.00 plus tip one way. There is no airport shuttle or bus service from the airport into town. Cars may be rented at the airport from Enterprise, Hertz and Budget.
