Sociology - Assistant Professor (Term Appointment)

The Department of Social Science at the University of New Brunswick, Saint John invites applications for an eight-month term appointment in Sociology at the rank of Assistant Professor. The appointment will commence on August 28, 2017, and is subject to budgetary approval.
Candidates should have a PhD in Sociology with specialization in Social Theory (preferably both classical and contemporary social theory). The successful candidate will be expected to teach three courses per term at the undergraduate level, including: 'Sociological Theory' (full year course) and 'Qualitative methods in the Social Sciences'. The other teaching options are open, but candidates with a specialization in sociology of health will be preferred. The Department of Social Science offers major, double-major, and honours programmes in sociology.
