Anthropologica is looking for a new editorial team!

The journal Anthropologica is looking for a new editorial team composed of one Editor for the English-language manuscripts and one Editor for the French-language manuscripts. The editors can act as Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editor, or as CoEditors-in-Chief. We welcome individual or team applications.

Anthropologica is the official journal of the Canadian Anthropology Society (CASCA), a bilingual scholarly association promoting, supporting, and disseminating anthropological research in Canada and internationally.

Anthropologica is a peerreviewed and bilingual journal. It publishes two issues per year (Spring and Fall), with innovative sections for theoretical, experimental, and practitioner-based scholarship in cultural anthropology. As of 2021, the journal has been open access, with no paywalls and no submission payments from authors. The journal is currently published by the University of Victoria Library, a non-profit university press, and distributed via the digital platform Érudit.

The editorial team is proud to support its “game changing” non-commercial and national initiatives that disseminate and advance digital scholarly research. Anthropologica is currently in excellent financial standing; it is supported by an experienced editorial assistant, a dedicated editorial board, an enthusiastic team of book, film and exhibit editors, as well excellent translators, reviewers, and typesetters.

Candidates would preferably have a PhD in Anthropology, be based at a Canadian university, and be comfortable in working in both English and French.

We aim to fill the position by August 2024.

If you have any questions or are interested in knowing more about the positions, please contact CASCA president Dr. Bernard Perley (bernard.perley@ubc.ca) or current Editor-in-Chief Alexandrine Boudreault-Fournier (alexbf@uvic.ca)
