Researchers at UBC Anthropology seek collaborators for an open access, mapping project: Ecologies of Harm: Mapping Contexts of Vulnerability in the Time of Covid-19.
This work is intended as a public resource.
Ecologies of Harm will generate a witness atlas from a brief, online survey about overlapping contexts that create or exacerbate vulnerability /harm. Here is the project website: https://blogs.ubc.ca/ecologiesofharmproject/ It works through sending an Invitation document (here) that describes the intentions, the ethics and working definitions. It also has live links to the survey.
We hope it will gain traction as it moves through different networks of scholars, advocates, culture workers, NGO workers etc.—witnesses / people who feel comfortable adding observations about contexts as they reveal structural conditions and/or social dynamics affecting health. The surveys may also be done relatively quickly in dialogue with interlocutors / colleagues in various locations. The Project Information sheet (here) is helpful for that.
