Your Responsibilities
- Ethnographic research on political contestations over migration, welfare, (wage) labour, unemployment, housing, family, gender, sexuality and/or democracy with a (multi-)local focus on Europe, preferably on Austria, from a global perspective
- Participation in advancing the profile of the research field of Political Anthropology
- Participation in applications for externally funded projects
- Independent publication activity, active participation in conferences
- Independent teaching of courses, including research-based seminars at MA level, and conducting examinations
- Supervision of Bachelor’s and Master’s students
- Participation in university self-administration (e.g. committee work)
- Participation in administrative and organisational tasks of the institute
- Participation in the institute’s public relations work
Your Profile
- Excellent PhD in Cultural Anthropology, European Ethnology, Empirical Cultural Studies, or an equivalent academic qualification
- Research focus in Political Anthropology
- Experience in the conception and implementation of ethnographic research projects
- Experience with intra- and extra-university collaboration within the framework of one’s own research (desirable)
- Ability to work academically at a high level, successful publication activity
- Enjoyment of academic work and of working with students
- Teaching experience
- Communication and teamwork skills
- Ability for conceptual work
- Excellent German and English skills, written and spoken
- Experience in writing applications for funded projects (desirable)
- Experience in project management, editing publications, and organising conferences (desirable)
