Assistant Professor in Sociocultural Anthropology
While the official posting emphasizes our focus on linguistic anthropology, we are especially enthusiastic about candidates whose work engages with medical anthropology, science and technology studies (STS), and related fields. We see this as a rich opportunity to bring in a scholar whose research bridges these areas and complements the strengths of our faculty.
The successful candidate will teach core undergraduate and graduate courses in linguistic anthropology and develop new courses that speak to their own research interests. We welcome applicants with a wide range of geographical and topical expertise, and we especially encourage those pursuing innovative approaches connecting language to health, medicine, science, and social justice.
Applications are due by November 5, 2025, and can be submitted through the Rutgers portal: https://jobs.rutgers.edu/
