The School of Geography and Sustainable Development and the Department of Social Anthropology at the University of St Andrews are inviting applications for three Virtual Fellowships for Palestinian scholars from Gaza for the 2026/27 academic year. The deadline for applications is September 8th.

The fellowships build on last year’s pilot programme and have been developed in collaboration with the Emergency Committee of Universities in Gaza, including representatives from the Islamic University of Gaza, Al-Aqsa University and Al-Azhar University.

These fellowships aim to strengthen sustainable institutional partnerships with Palestinian universities in Gaza and reflect a shared commitment to academic solidarity and resistance against scholasticide.

One fellow will be hosted by the School of Geography and Sustainable Development and the GOSSIP research group, while two fellows will be hosted by the Department of Social Anthropology.
