Culture Newsletter: Call for Article and Event Submissions
· Cultureblog· Calls· Announcements
The Culture Bulletin is CASCA’s bilingual, biannual e-newsletter for members. We are now accepting articles, event announcements, and publication announcements for this issue Spring 2024.
In this issue of Culture, we invite CASCA members to draw inspiration from the theme of the annual conference— “Sedimented Stories, Life Journeys” – which will take place between May 15 and 18, 2024, at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan Campus) in Kelowna.
Echoing the connections that link the past with the present and the future, this theme invites us to reflect on the paths that connect our predecessors and mentors to our current practices. Take advantage of this year, as CASCA celebrates its 50th anniversary, to highlight the vitality and growth of Canadian anthropology by sharing your work—whether it relates to the decolonization of the discipline, liberatory pedagogy, or collaborative forms of inquiry.
We are happy to accept written works, audio and video productions, and other types of creative work, such as photographic essays. Finally, we are particularly excited to receive submissions in French, as well as topics that fall within one of the four fields of anthropology.
Submissions (between 500 and 1,000 words, accompanied by photos and videos) must be sent by March 8, 2024.
Please send them, along with any inquiries, to: Emmanuelle Bouchard-Bastien, active Francophone member at cascaenmemberatlarge@gmail.com or to Rine Vieth, an active English-speaking member at cascamembreactiffr@gmail.com.
