Anthropologica: Call for papers
Calls / Calls
Dear CASCA members,
We are sharing a new call for papers from Anthropologica for its Seedings section, on the theme “The World Next Door: Canada, Trump, and the Politics of Uncertainty.”
This third Seedings call invites emerging, creative, multimodal, and ethnographically grounded contributions examining the political transformations associated with Trump and MAGA in Canada and beyond. Contributions may address Canada–US relations, implications for Indigenous, minority, and migrant communities, transformations of the international political and economic order, and the consequences of these developments for Canadian anthropology and anthropological research.
The editors welcome different forms of ethnography, including photo essays, graphic ethnography, ethnographic poetry, and ethnographic fiction, as well as theoretical interventions and timely anthropological reflections on unfolding events.
Anthropologica welcomes submissions in English and French. Submissions undergo anonymous peer review.
Submission deadline: December 31, 2026
The papers are expected to appear in the Spring 2027 issue.
The full description of the theme and submission details are available in the call for papers.
Please feel free to share this call with colleagues and others in your networks.
Best wishes,
CASCA Executive Team
