Dear everyone,
Now that CASCA 2023 is behind us and we’re looking ahead to CASCA 2024 In May, we reach out to our members with a call for submissions and nominations for a number ofCASCA Awards and Honors.
We are announcing a series of calls for applications and submissions here, with a deadline of February 1, 2024 (awards with later deadlines can be found on the website, and calls for those will be sent out at a later date).
Weaver-Tremblay Prize, awarded annually to an anthropologist who has distinguished themselves through their public advocacy on social and political issues, particularly in cases that have a direct impact on those who have traditionally been the subject of anthropological study.
Richard F. Salisbury Award, awarded annually to a doctoral student with an exceptional academic record and an outstanding research proposal that demonstrates innovative academic scope and social relevance.
CASCA Award for Excellence in Teaching (PEEC), awarded annually in recognition of outstanding contributions to excellence in teaching and student learning in anthropology. Two awards are presented: one for faculty members who teach “on a per-course basis” or who hold a fixed-term faculty position not exceeding two years, and the second for those who hold a tenured faculty position.
Honorary Members of CASCA, awarded in recognition of the contributions made by long-standing CASCA members to the association and to anthropology in Canada.
Award of Excellence for Anthropology Graduating Students, awarded annually to outstanding undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students in the anthropology departments of Canadian universities and colleges. Applications may be submitted between February 1 and May 15, 2021.
