The Salisbury Award, given in memory of Dr. Richard Frank Salisbury, recognizes an exceptional anthropology PhD candidate at a Canadian university.
CASCA is delighted to announce that the winner of the 2020 Salisbury Award is Nicolas Rasiulis from McGill University. Nicolas is studying the environmental stewardship of the Dukha reindeer pastoralists in northern Mongolia. Because the Dukhas dwell in uneasy relationship with the Tengis-Shishged National Park on their traditional territory, Nicolas’ work will contribute significantly to the scholarship on the political ecologies and ontologies of Indigenous land rights. Congratulations, Nicolas!

Because this people coexists not without friction with the Tengis-Shishged National Park on their traditional territory, Nicolas's work will make a significant contribution to the body of research addressing the political ecologies and ontologies related to Indigenous land rights. Congratulations, Nicolas!
