Éric Schwimmer, honorary member of CASCA in 2015, left us on April 8, 2022. He was a professor of anthropology at the University of Toronto as well as at Laval University from 1975 to 1993. "A polyglot, a lover of literature, a thinker and passionate researcher, he devoted part of his life to studying the reality and aspirations of peoples living with the repercussions of colonialism in New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and Quebec." A commemoration will take place in Outremont, Montreal, on Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Mont-Royal Funeral Complex.
